First Aid Course

UK First Aid and Safety Training have a range of first aid courses available to be delivered at your own venue at a discounted cost. Alternatively you booking on to a first aid course at one of our national centres. 

Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW)

This qualification is suitable for anyone wishing to learn basic lifesaving skills, this could include a workplace when their risk assessment states the qualifications is suitable, schools, universities, clubs, voluntary sector and to know what to do in the home to deal with basic emergencies.  

This professional training qualification is 6 hours lead by one of our professional qualified trainers Course should be delivered in a minimum of 2-hour session taken over 3 weeks maximum.  The certificate is valid for 3 years from the final assessment date.

This can be run as an Ofqual accredited qualification for an additional fee or be fully regulated as HSE Selecting a First Aid Training provided Requires by PTDQ.  Distant learning available for this qualification.

First Aid at Work (FAW)

This qualification is suitable for anyone wishing to learn comprehensive first aid , this could include a workplace when their risk assessment states the qualifications is suitable, schools, universities, clubs, voluntary sector and to know what to do in the home to deal with comprehensive emergencies.

 

The new qualification for those that have not taken this qualification before or they have let their qualification elapsed. The required course time is 18 hours over 3 days and no more than 10 weeks.

 

The refresher course is available to those that have an in-date certificate on the final assessment date. This qualification is 12 hours over a maximum of 6 weeks.

 

Both qualifications must be trained in a minimum of 2-hour segments and the certificate is valid for 3 years from the final assessment date.

This qualification is suitable for anyone wishing to learn basic lifesaving skills for paediatric including children and babies,  this could include a workplace when their risk assessment states the qualifications is suitable, schools, clubs, voluntary sector and to know what to do in the home to deal with basic emergencies.

 

 

This professional training qualification is 6 hours lead by one of our professional qualified trainers the certificate is valid for 3 years from the final assessment date.

 

This can be run as an Ofqual accredited qualification for an additional fee or be fully regulated by PTDQ.  Both are regulated qualification is specific to infants aged under 1, and children aged from 1 year old to the onset of puberty. It fulfils the requirements of the statutory framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) as issued by the department for Education and Skills Foundation Stage relating to Early Years childcare.  Distant learning available for this qualification.

Paediatric First Aid

This qualification is suitable for anyone wishing to learn comprehensive lifesaving and first aid skills for paediatric including children and babies,  this could include a workplace when their risk assessment states the qualifications is suitable, schools, clubs, voluntary sector and to know what to do in the home to deal with basic emergencies.

 

The qualification is 12 hours duration.

 

This regulated qualification is specific to infants aged under 1, and children aged from 1 year old to the onset of puberty. It fulfils the requirements of the statutory framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) as issued by the department for Education and Skills Foundation Stage relating to Early Years childcare.

Safe Use of an Defibrillator (AED)

This qualification is suitable for anyone wishing to learn how to use an automatic external defibrillator (AED), this course is a generic course and is suitable for all AED models that are currently on the market.

 

This professional training course is 1 to 4 hours lead by one of our professional qualified trainers. This qualification can be completed as a bolt on or as a specific course.  The certificate is valid for 1 years from the final assessment date. This AED qualifications meets the recommendations for safe use of an AED and follows latest resuscitation regulations and recommendations.

Anaphylaxis and Safe Use of an Auto Injector

This qualification is suitable for anyone wishing to learn how to use an auto injector pen for persons that carry one for allergy’s and reactions.  This qualification will cover all auto inject pens that are available.

 

This professional training course is 1 to 4 hours lead by one of our professional qualified trainers. This qualification can be completed as a bolt on or as a specific course.  The certificate is valid for 1 years from the final assessment date. This qualification meets the recommendations for safe use of an auto injectors and follows latest recommendations from charities, regulators and manufacturers.

Mental Health First Aid

PTDQ mental health first aid course?

Mental health first aid courses will teach you to detect all stages of signs and symptoms of common mental health problems, such as PTSD, eating conditions, anxiety, and depression various stress. This training will help you understand the condition and to be able to give supportive treatment and care as well as refer them to the appropriate support bodies.

This course follows national guidelines and is suitable for anyone that needs a qualification in Mental Health First Aid for the workplace or other setting.  

Be fully compliant with support employee’s mental health and help to reduce time of sick and the workplace being under productive.

The HSE states that in recent years approximately 602,000 workers suffer from work-related stress, depression, or anxiety, which equates to in the region of 12.8 million working days lost.

Guidance from HSE is that it is recommended that if you work in a company with 5-50 workers, there should be at least one person training in mental health first aid.
